First National Bank
Re-verification

I recently opened up a FNB Cheque Account, with the view of utilising FNB's more efficient systems, in that FNB are far more mobile friendly than any other bank and as such I would not have to visit a branch regularly.

Instead, every single month, without failure, I am requested to send my ID and a Proof of residence to the Bank, lest they freeze my account. I understand FAIS and therefore I was willing to send my details with the courier the first time, which was subsequently lost, and the second time, which, after calling your courier's, I was informed that everything was fine, only to receive another sms about a month later. I then decided to take my stuff to the branch (something I have tried to avoid from the beginning), whereafter I was helped, at Bryanston Shopping Centre, and assured that everything was now in order, only to receive another sms last week, stating that if I don't re-verify my account it will be frozen as of 31 July 2013.

At this point, FNB, rather freeze my account, there is a growing number of banks in South Africa, and I am sure they have trained their staff or their subcontracted courier services, to enter and store customer details on a program.
