I bought my vehicle in april 2013 and took out insurance through SAU. During June 2013 my husband was contacted by SAU offering us an additional product namely car hire. We accepted this offer and it was added to my cover. Yesterday i had a mechanical breakdown on my vehicle and it was towed. When i enquired about the car rental i was told that this option excluded mechanical breakdown! I was never told this when they phoned us to sell their product. Upon enquiry i was told that THEY DONT HAVE TIME TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE POLICY DOC WITH ME WHEN SELLING A NEW PRODUCT and that i should go and read the policy documents for more details. I mean really! It wasnt necessary to go through the WHOLE policy doc again because i already had insurance but surely they must go through the pro's and cons of what they are selling me?
