Refusal to pay for car repairs

I bought the AMP insurance to protect me agianst any mechanical breakdown. At the beginning of April 2013, the camshaft of my opel corsa utility was broken while driving to work. I towed my car to McCarthy General Motors branch in Hatfield in Pretoria. I phoned AMP and they send the assessor and AMP phoned me that the car must be taken to Gate Way Motors in Gezina because they fixed the overheating problem my car had few weeks after I bought the car. Gate Way Motors towed the car from Hatfield GM to Gezina. The Gate Way Motors told me the insurance refuse to pay. Gate Way Motors fixed the camshaft and asked me to pay part of the cost. I paid R2800. I am dissatisfied with this because AMP refused to pa and my budget was badly affected. What is the purpose of buying the insurance and when you have a problem they refuse to pay. You cannot predict when and how many mechanical breakdown you you will have if you buy a secondhand car. Thus why you buy an insurance to cover the uncertainty. To me what has happened is unacceptable.
