With regard to a claim, i have had regent home insurance cover for R 100 000 and my house was burgled on the 31st of May 2013. The insurance assessor came and confirmed the house was grossly under-insured. property amounting to approximately R150 000 was . i have been with this insurance company for the past 5 years and this was the first insyrance claim with them, they are offering to pay R16 500 which R3500 was going to be deducted for excess. in the 5 years i was with them i never recieved a copy of the contract which deals with all the terms and conditions relating to payment and non-payment. there was a glassdoor which was used by the criminals to gain entry to the house. Regent insurance claims that the glassdoor was supposed to be reinforced however i do not have a contract in my possession to prove the latter. the money they are willing to pay does not even begin to cover the cost of what was sto;en.
