I bought a new car and was offered a Regent Paint Tech Platinum Cover of R4000.00. I have the printed contract explaining what is all covered in this. I then submitted a claim of R3200 and was told that my policy only covers till R2000. I forwarded my contract where it indicates R4000 cover but Regent refused. I then went and paid the whole damage myself as I did not want to waste my energy on a company that refuses to cover what they agreed on in a contract. It took me 3 months and enough money just to get a decline answer. Submitting a claim is already a hassle and costly as I had to travel 300km as they did not have any assessor close just to hear 3 months later that my claim has been declined because they only cover R2000.
Why does my contract then show R4000. I communicated with so many people on email but they all came up with excuses. I am not prepared to carry on with a company that cannot deliver and so far I was successful to stop a few people from falling into the same trap by warning them about Regent and stopping them from taking out any products sold by Regent.
I now saw many more people on Hellopeter with similar issues which just confirms.
