I was sold a Insurance policy for "Woman Diseases" back in 2004 by Standard Bank, there promise and policy statement is: "On the first diagnosis of any of the diseases, Insurance will pay out within 48 hours".
On the 3rd April2013 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, every woman's nightmare! had the operation to remove the tumour and lymph node on 23rd April 2013. On the 28th April, I sent through the claim form, with a copy of the surgeons form indicating which procedures would take place as well as the name of my Oncologist. I have called the Customer Call Centre on 3 occasions, no help except to be advised of the claim number 765071, when asking to speak to Management, this cannot be done, the buck stops at the Call Centre. I contacted Standard Bank, who have tried to assist, but after numerous emails to AIG contacts I STILL HAVE NO FEEDBACK WHATSOEVER. I have now started my 6 weeks of radiation treatment and have now reached the end of my tether - Is there perhaps a contact number for the Insurance Ombudsman please?
