I had a policy for car insurance with Regent (under Uturn Insurance) in which they installed a tracking device from Autotrack on my vehicle. I cancelled my policy last year, and recently contacted Regent numerous times querying about the tracking device on my vehicle. I DO NOT WANT THE DEVICE ON MY VEHICLE! Uturn then said that I should contact Autotrack directly for the query, Autotrack replied saying I should make a payment of R500 into their account if I want the device removed. I then contacted Regent again informing them of the response from Autotrack. Regent agreed with the response from Autotrack saying I've agreed telephonically and also by signature that I'm liable for de-installation fees. I'VE NEVER AGREED TO THIS, by telephone or by signature. I then requested evidence of such to no avail. Regent thereafter responded by saying they have no records regarding our agreement (records may have been lost). They promised to contact me ASAP, and they haven't.
