I submitted a claim for a dent that was approved by Regent. When I contacted the approved provider, I was informed that they will contact me to make arrangements and that I should not contact them. After 2 weeks of failing to secure a time to have the repairs done, I contacted Regent again without getting any actionable feedback from Regent.
Since that time I have been unable to get Regent to commit to carry out the repairs. I then requested Regent to cancel the policy and reimburse me in order for me to get the repairs done myself. After hearing what the cancellation "fee" would be, I instructed Regent to not cancel, since it was purely due to Regent not honouring the agreement that I was forced to cancel. The agent refused and when I indicated that I'll take the matter to the ombudsman, I was informed that "I should".
In the interest of not wasting anyone's time any further, I want Regent to either:
1) Repay the policy amount in full; or
2) Carry out the repairs as they should've in the first place; or
3) Pay the approved amount that I can source a reputable provider and get the dent sorted out.
