Poor service

My son was contacted during the week to say that he needs to start paying back his student loan. They said it could only be paid back over 18mnths. I said that this was ridiculous and that I would go into the branch and make a different arrangement. The person said that she would make a note on the system that I would be going into the branch.
I did that and on arrival completed the list to say what I was there for -'Student Loan'. I then waited over an hour before it was my chance. My name was called and I was asked what I needed. I explained that I need to arrange to pay back the student loan. The lady then said that student loans are only dealt with telephonically and not at the branch. Could she or any one of the other 3 consultants not have said something earlier when they saw 'Student Loan'.
What a waste of time and an example of complete incompetence.
I was considering changing banks but after this experience I think I will rather stay where I am.
