TU20120927-000488-01 - Consumer Dispute - Hi there, I signed assurity for my sister (home loan bond with Std Bank for R600, 000.00) in 2006. In 2008/2009 they were having difficulty paying their bond and made arrangements with Std bank. They tried selling the property but were unable to so between Remax and Std Bank they are now trying to sell the house on "through my roof" website. There is R810, 000.00 outstanding on the Std bank home loan and there are currently 4 offers on the property - 33 Island View rd, Fynnlands bluff Durban 4052 (Mr TS and Mrs B Anderson). My name does not appear on the title deeds of the property even though I signed assurity for them. I have never been contacted by Std bank (not even once) asking for a payment. I have been told by Pieter from Remax (Cell 074 4379 353) that once the property is sold, the outstanding amount will only be for Mr & Mrs Anderson and nothing will be for me to pay. I have disputed this with Transunion as there is a R1, 300, 000 amount reflected against my credit record which is linked to the Std bank home loan. I need this cleared from my name asap. I have sent in a letter to the Ombudsman but no response as yet.
