FNB Incompetent staff

I had a cheque account with FNB but I decided to switch banks because of over charges and debit order that i didn't know, i went to FMB Palm Springs Mall to ask for a settlement letter to pay off their loan, I then paid off the Loan and asked the guy to close my account, he tried to convince me to stay with FNB and he also offered to change my account to Smart account but I refused. I was shocked to hear that FNB has blacklisted me for the unpaid debit oders that, I was under the impression that that guy has closed my account as i requested. i want to know why should I pay for the unpaid debit orders where as i had requested for that guy to close my account. i can't do anything because of FNB.
