Debited on wrong date, can't claim

My debit order with Iwyze has always been the 23rd of each month, proof can be given on my bank statements. In April they decided to debit my account on the 24th and it bounced, I only receive an sms today notifying me of the reversal and that I should make a payment arrangement. I called them to do a manual debit order since I was not aware that the DO for April had bounced and they said they cant do a manual debit order therefore I am not covered till the 24th May. I was in an accident last night.

Why did they only send me the sms today? I am really frustrated that I at the time where I need my insurance the most they cant help me!
