I recently purchased a Groupon for x6 tickets to the SPAR Tops at Bierfest event in Durban. The event was happening on Saturday and Sunday. The Groupon said the tickets would be valid for either one of the days.
When I received the tickets they stated specifically Sunday. I wanted to go on Saturday, and I was not given an option to select a day. I then queried this to the Groupon support (the only support contact given on the voucher) and they said that it was fine.
A few days later I email the support team to see if I could cancel the Groupon (within the 7 business days you have to cancel). They informed my money had already gone to the event organizers and there was nothing more to be done.
When I went to the event on the Saturday, the organizers informed me I was not on the Groupon list for Saturday and didn't want to allow me entry. Eventually, after explaining the situation, they said that Groupon has no right to say I could attend on Saturday. They luckily sympathized with me and allowed me inside.
This is not to complain but to warning: (1) Tickets cannot be cancelled and (2) deal with the Suppliers (not Groupon) directly if you have a query.
