My report on 5 May has reference. We have been liaising with Pearly James from Std Bank. The decision is now to reimburse the account holder with R1500 when he had lost R3000. The reason for this is that he was a victim of crime. This indidiviual is a pensioner who was subjected to ATM . Std states that they have no control over this crime therefore the account holder, a pensioner will have to be a victim of crime of R3000 plus be subjected to being pushed around by STD bank for his money & incur losses for numerous calls to them. This loss happened within minutes. The account was stopped timorously. STD bank is now fighting a pensioner for R3K.STD Bank failed to ensure that there is adequate securoty at their ATM sites. This matter has being going on from 27March and its now 17/5 and STD bank offers R1500 to a 65 year old pensioner for being a victim of crime of R3K.Does not seem right does it.
