No communication regarding access charge

My husband & I recently joined FNB and heard about this wonderful SLOW lounge 'free' benefit to platinum cardholders. We travelled from OR Tambo to Cape Town Int Airport last week and decided to make use of this benefit. At neither of the lounges upon entering, were we told about the R250 charge if the qualifying criteria are not met. It wasn't explained either that the min spend had to be on the credit card if the cedit card was swiped and vice versa if it was a cheque card. The first visit, my husband swiped his credit card (and obviously wasn't charged because he had spent R5k on the card the previous month). On our return, he swiped his cheque card, not knowing what difference it would make, and he was billed R250. I on the other hand swiped my cheque card both times and was charged R500 in total just to use the bathroom, have a coffee and a muffin. My husband spends a lot more than R5k/month on his credit card, and had we been informed how it works, he would have used his credit card both times and still could have swiped me in as his guest. Its also funny that we get sms'd for all transactions except this one! Pls disclose information to clients properly. Appalling service!
