Bad (non-existent) service & dishonesty

When we arrived there was no-one to let us in. Were told the owners were in Pretoria at a kitchen tea.

Were told by Veronica (owner) that we'd have to go back to fetch the cleaning lady at the township to let us in. Veronica said she would 'make right with us'.

Guests were alone on the property until the owners returned late Sunday afternoon!!!

After a disingenuous apology & being told they were called away on an emergency (kitchen tea!?) we were offered an extra night free. We declined due to work. She agreed to give us a nights refund & pay petrol for the extra 36km I drove to fetch Lydia to let us in.

She blamed the internet, cell provider, phone battery & the cleaning lady & took no responsibility. When asked about the e-mail I'd sent days earlier she said she only received it on Sat morning - Why didn't she reply? Or have someone there to let us in?

We received no written apology or communication. On following up days later, I finally got an sms saying they would not be refunding accomm.

The handling of this situation was unprofessional & having Veronica to us & then go back on her word made matters worse.

Another case of not caring once the money's in the bank!
