WE flew JNB/CPT Club class for the Christmas holidays to Cape Town. Flying down was great notwithstanding no water on the aircraft and a very slow flight attendant. The disappointment came in on Saturday 5 Jan (9am departure) returning to Johannesburg. This is peak travel time, yet Comair had only one person on duty attending to all their Club passengers. It took over an hour to get to the front of the queue. On enquiry we were told that they were short staffed and nothing could be done. When eventually a body was found, the ground crew memberworking there announced happily that she could now take her tea break! For a private company in the service industry I would expect exemplary service to your premium customers.
On a separate matter, why are 26 year old 737-300's being operated on premium BA while Kulula has brand new 737-800's?
