Seats changed from what were alloterd at webchecki

Hi,

I am making a complaint on behalf of my wife who travelled via Flight Number SA 284 today to Mumbai from Johannesburg.

She web-Checked in on 19th Jan with seat number 45K, however, when she reached baggage drop off, she was given a new boarding pass with her seat changed to 47K . She obviously did not check her new boarding pass since no one would suspect any unethical act in issuing a new boarding pass from Airlines like SAA. However, when she boarded flight, she realized her seats has been changed and that too without informing her. When she raised this issue with inflight crew, she was told that this has been done by some backend engineer, since the engineers keep these seats reserved for their "favorite" customers. I am surprised that even in Economy class this kind of "favoritism" could exist in your esteemed and prestigious Airlines. I wrote a mail complaining the same to SA Customer Care, and till date, am expecting a response. Shame on SAA!
