On Saturday 30 November 2013, I was on-route to Cape Town for business on a flight booked by my company's travel service provider. The booking was therefore made by means of a corporate credit card which I never have or probably will see.
On checking in at the entrance gate I was asked whether I had the credit card or a copy thereof. I have flown with Mango, as with all other airlines, in the past and never have I been asked to show a credit card. I kindly said that it was a corporate booking and that I wouldn't know where to start looking for the credit which was used let alone on a Saturday morning. The rude lady at the gate exclaimed that I would then be offloaded as it is in Mango's terms and references which I should be acquainted with.
Ultimately this resulted in me having to pay for an already paid for ticket with my own money or face being offloaded. I have sympathy for credit card, but making a business traveller feel like a criminal is most unpleasant and I will dissuade my company from using Mango with their tedium for business travel ever again.
I want my money returned to me immediately please as I fail to see why I should pay for credit card neurosis.
