My wife had booked a trip to Durban with Eldo Coaches. She has travelled with them on many occasions due to the convenience. On this day of her travel, not long after boarding the bus, my wife, as others did as well, noticed that the bus was literally infected with insects and cockroaches. Many of the passengers as well as my wife approached the driver and the reception at both Lenasia station and Johannesburg station, to either have the bus changed or refund them for the service to travel on a day there bus would be up to proper health standard. They were all denied both the bus change and the ability to be refunded for that trip. I am reporting this incident as the incident is a direct violation of health code and the manner of service received after was inadequate to resolve the issue. There were also children and infants on the bus as well, this could of been a health risk for them as we do not know of the infections these insects carry. Many people travel by bus due to financial situations and cannot just cancel a ticket and book a second trip. We have images proving the infestation on the bus and will be taking this matter further.
