A trip was booked through a Johannesburg Travel Agent for an adventure trip using GAP Adventures, through the South African representative, Travel Vision. This was meant to be a great adventure to Indonesia. Unfortunately my ex-Wife has fallen ill and has a valid medical certificate, and therefore is not fit to travel on the dates contemplated, the 12th of December 2013. The medical certificate has been sent through to Travel Vision with a full explanation of why she cannot travel. Having paid R18 000 for her trip, they now refuse to compensate her except for a $250 (approximately R2 500) "lifetime credit. Whilst we fully understand that perhaps no refund can be done, I would have expected Travel Vision / GAP Adventures to follow the airline who are refunding 75% of what was paid. You would be WELL ADVISED to exercise caution when contemplating using either of these firms, just in case a similar incident befalls your plans. Shocking service and a pathetic attitude. I have reported them in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
