British Airways Comair
Pet Policy - Outdated and Disgraceful

I've booked a BA flight to Cape Town and have planned to take my pet along. After doing some research on the BA pet flight policy vs. the pet flight policy of other Domestic airlines I've found that the BA policy is outdated, which is not only frustrating but very disappointing.
Most Domestic carriers allow a passenger to escort the pet to the cargo hold however British Airways does not provide this service. Their policy treats pets as "Normal Luggage" forces them on the conveyor belt to be transported as luggage, handled by multiple people (one can only hope they are not mistreated) and finally the pet will be taken to the cargo hold. This only increases the trauma for the pet. I won't fail to mention that the Domestic Pet Policy in the US and UK allows small pets in the Cabin during domestic flights - should a Domestic Airline in SA get with the times and follow the international pet policy they'll see a huge increase in ticket sales...
I will be cancelling my BA flight and book with another domestic airline that at least tries to make the pet flying experience a little less traumatic.
