Bank doesn't recognise its own card

Aha, Kulula online banking seems to be the proverbial Steve's new home.
After much hassle trying to get my online banking set up, one Ntokozo at the online banking "support" centre, tells me that "It doesn't work that way" and it is the card centre's fault.
Meanwhile the card works fine with outside dealers, just not with its own bank
