Booked four flights to CT and back via JHB on 6/5/13 on BA website, booking ref 3EJBOA (Executive club number 61829226), departing 21/5/13 returning 24/5/13 under the names Petro Goldner, Rory McConnach, Daryl Viljoen and Mark Weintraud. On 20/5/13 Petro Goldner became ill and was not able to travel so I called the BA call centre in Joburg on 011 441 8500 in order to cancel her booking.
I was informed by the agent that in order to make changes I would need to cancel the entire booking, for all four of the above passengers and re-book for those three people who are still able to travel. It was my understanding that the charges for this would be R 240, 00 to cancel.
The agent cancelled my origianl booking and booked three new flights with exactly the same travel times and dates for Mark Weintraud, Daryl Viljoen and Rory McConnach, booking ref 2SVS4L. I was told that a refund for the original booking would be processed the same day minus the cancellation fee. When checking my card statement to see if the refund was processed I noticed that only R 60, 00 per ticket was refunded, a total of R 240, 00.
Better advice would have been to tell Ms Golder not to pitch for her flight.
