4 years ago, we travelled on this very same train and we must say that it was awesome and was what we expected then. We can unfortunately not say the same when we travelled in February.
We departed Cape Town (26th February 2013) to Jhb at 9:20. it was a disaster. Let me point the following turn of events.1. The air-conditioning was not working, thus resulting in the passengers being uncomfortable, irritable and dehydrated 2. The "luxury train" was dirty and filthy all over including smoking area, 3. Dirty glasses were found under the beds 5. Curtains were hanging off the rails 6. Table cloths in dining cart were dirty and have just merely being turned around 7. There were no drinking glasses on the train 8. The kitchen where the food was being prepared was dirty and unhygienic as cockroaches were visible 9. The carpets are dirty 10. The bar in the smoking area was not stocked with anything and is dirty beyond recognition and the rubbish of the previous week was still on train. 11.The tv is was not operational 12. The chairs, tables, furniture was dirty. 13. Cigarette were in the basin at the bar. This was reported on numerous occasions and have been ignored. I have photos
