SAA
APPALLING SERVICE IN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT

I flew on Sunday 7 th July, Buenos Aires - Cape Town, flight 227. I was flying with t my two kids: my daughter and my baby, a year-and-a-half boy, who started running a fever when the flight started.
In two hours my boy's fever became worse and was, very, very high. When I asked for a thermometer to start controlling the fever, the attendant told me that the thermometer was to be used in a case of an EMERGENCY!!
I would like to know what an emergency situation is if it is not what my child was going through. Nobody expects to get ill or sick on a flight, let alone bother the crew with nuisances, but as it is obvious it is very important to know how high fever has been in a small child as then it helps doctors diagnose.
In addition, my daughter's seat was broken: the TV set could not be used and the table was loose, so she could by no means eat on the table, so in that situation the attendant told us that we should move to business class (which was almost completely free) just to have dinner but that we should move back to our seats immediately once we had finished having dinner. It is relevant to highlight the fact that I had to move seats back and forth with a sick baby.
