I booked a flight with Kulula and flew on the 8-15am from King Shaka to JHB (11-11-2013). We arrived fairly early, my girlfriend and I, and at check-in requested emergency seats as I am fairly tall at 6ft5. The lady checked the system and then asked us the usual questions "are we able and willing to help in an emergency etc etc"
Having no problems with this she said that she would give us a middle and aisle seat which was perfect. Once boarded I got to my seats which were NOT emergency exit seats but the row in front, I was extremely perturbed with this and after chatting to my fellow passenger next to me he was also supposedly given an emergency seat.

I battle to fit in most planes due to my height (not size) and when you expect and are told you have an emergency exit seat and then find out that it is not so... it becomes annoying. The worse part is the fact that there were 2 separate empty seats in emergency (16 B & 16 E) both middle seats which does not help when you are flying with a partner.

I am usually accommodated well on the other airlines that I fly including the "yellow fruit" airline and have never experienced this with them.
