IMPOSSIBLE to book with avios

So what is the point of booking my business travels on BA in order to collect AVIS points, when it is impossible to redeem them... I want my wife to come with on my next trip and I have more than enough points but there is not a single flights available to be booked... This is ridiculous... Now I'll book mine on a cheaper airline where I can buy her a cash ticket...
