On the 1st of August I was invited to speak at a conference in Jhb . The Conference organisers paid for my air ticket from CPT - Jhb return using Avios points. My return flight was booked for 7.50 pm . the Conference however finished early, I arrived at the airport at 3.15 and asked if I could get on an earlier flight . Despite there being seats available, I was told that only the person who had redeemed the points could change the flight . At this point the conference organiser were not available to do that, my only recourse would have been to purchase a new ticket!!!!!!
I refused to do that and sat at the airport for 4 hours . Surely if the ticket was in my name, I should have the ability to change the ticket as it is my name on the ticket
If there were no seats available I could understand but there were seats .
It is a ridiculous policy, needless to say I will not be choosing to fly BA Comair if I can help it .
