This week for some reason the connection speeds on my 4Mb line have degraded exponentially. Whereas I would typically get a 3Mb speedtest on my 4Mb line, I now get about 500kbps. That's a sixfold loss of speed.
I have ruled out the ISP, and my own setup, as I have tried numerous ISP's; plus this is not an isolated incident as witnessed by this forum thread: [URL Removed] To add to that, the traceroute shows the local to DSLAM hop to be the problem, and despite logging a fault with Telkom (fault 236CWK230413) I am yet to hear from them. If it was just me I'd understand, but it's not, and clearly somebody has messed up somewhere configuring the Telkom exchange.
It would be nice if somebody would step up and sort this out - time is money for some of us!
