I wanted to upgrade from a talk 240 to one of your new Red packages (Red Advantage). The assistant indicated that because my average account is more than R850 a month and because i want to upgrade to a better package, i can do so even though i am only eligible for an upgrade in November 2013.
I then wanted to go ahead, but she advised me that i will pay a penalty fee for prematurely upgrading and thus cancelling my current contract. The penalty would be no more than 75% of the remaining value of my current contract???
Why am i penalised for upgrading and in effect signing a two year extension contract with vodacom? It makes absolute no business sense?!?!
There is a real possibility that the assistant did not know what she was talking about, but if this is indeed true, i willl run out my contract in november and switch companies after 11 years, as this is ridiculous...
