Account handed ove

I took a contract with Virgin Mobile about 3 or 4 years back. The sim and phone was delivered at my work place, they took everything to rica the sim card. Few months later i got a sms that the sim is not rica'd and when i called in i was advised that it's just a system error they will fix it. The sim then stopped working after 8 months. I called in and requested that they must send me outstanding balance as i don't need the contract with them anymore. They said i will get it till now I'm still waiting, I'm sure will even come back still waiting for it.

However that's not the point. I got a letter of demand few weeks ago and was advised that my account has been handed over. Now why hand me over when I'm still waiting for the final invoice? You first cut me off and now hand me over?! This is sick to be honest.
