In April 2012, i took out my first Cell C contract. Upon returning to my residence I noticed problems with connectivity in my area. I took the phone back within a week and was told that a tower would soon be erected that will sort out the network problems that i was expericning. A year later an i am literally unable to use my handset when i am at home. i have filled in various forms, complained via e-mail and facebook only to have a call centre agent phone me and advise me that 'infrastructure plans are in place' and that i should have my handset checked. there is nothing wrong with the handset - when using a different mobile network sim card, the phone works perfectly. Upon contacting Cell C in order to port my number over to another network i now have to pay an estimated R3000? The issue with the network in my area was communicated within a week of purchase and i as a client should have been informed about the problems when the contract was taken out. And now, a year later and i am being forced to pay! This is ridiculous!
