Bad Service!

I had a contract with MTN for an Xperia X10. on 22 Jan I email them to confirm when the contract end date is, as I did not want to be billed due to monthly top-ups, etc. after the contract ends.

They confirmed that the contract would end on 2013-03-10. On this date, I noticed that I could not make any outgoing calls or send sms's, nor receive calls/sms', they had disabled my sim card!
They did not specify that my sim card would be canceled along with my contract, and why would it be, since I bought the sim card!

I have since been trying to get my sim card 'converted' to a prepaid sim, but have had no luck in getting this enabled again.

I have been without a working sim card for a month! This is HORRIBLE service, surely someone in your support department could AT LEAST TRY TO RESPOND!

How hard is it to at least say "this is what you have to do to enable your sim card again" - if they don't want to do it for me??

On top of this, I was billed again, after the contract ended, which is what I didn't want in the first place!
