Inaccurant Information just to make a sale

I was advised that my daughters contract is due for an upgrade in march. As the waiting period for an Iphone5 is very long I was offered to open a new contract in January, pay for 2 months both contracts and can than cancel the iphone5 number, have the old number transfer for the iphone5 with the iphone5 package. The call center agent advised me the same day that this deal was not possible and I should cancel the iphone5 contract the next day which I wanted to do but the employee of the Hout Bay branch assured me, that he spoke to the owner and all is fine. Not only that I paid 2 contracts, which I agreed, I had to buy additional airtime as the iphone5 uses a lot of data and as the old number contract has no data deal almost R1000 had to be paid additional. On top of all the deal was not possible either. Only a lawyers letter and dealing with another branch and the head office it was possible to arrange something. My costs of more than R2500 stays with me. The wording from Hout Bay Vodacom: it was a misunderstanding. I can only advise all not to visit the branch and if get all in writing. It used to be a very good branch but its the employees who make the difference.
