Bad Service and extortionate bills

Upgraded from BB to Galaxy S111 in Jan. Was paying a total of R900.00 monthly... March and April bills are both over R2, 000.00 due to data usage. Tried to buy recurring data for phone and told I can buy the product and will be charged, but won't necessarily get the data as I already have data recurring on original contract of 250MB. If I hadn't phoned to check, I would have been charged monthly without getting the data!!! Cannot get additional monthly data, cannot get recurring data bundle. Was told to monitor my data daily by 'dialling this' and 'putting in that' so I can track when data is required. It seems to me this is a silly way of ensuring very expensive out of packet data can be charged regularly. There doesn't seem to be a way of buying data ahead of time to guarantee an affordable data rate. Slip up with data and it will cost you heavily. Downgraded my account as I wanted to save money on calls not being used but received a great shock today when R2, 022.00 was billed from my bank account. CELL C and VODACOM would be a far better bet. Ask as many questions as you can before signing. Your financial wellbeing is the last thing on MTN's sales team minds.
