Too Late?

Good day,

I recently approached Telkom Direct in Middelburg Mall for the following deal:
Internet 5 Promo:
- 10GB data Huawei E5331 Router.

I was advised to bring in the following documents to apply:
- Copy ID
- 3 months bank statements
- Payslip
- Proof of residence.

Due to a busy schedule, I was only able to go back to the Telkom store on Sunday 31 March 2013. I completed the application form, handed in all the documentation, completed the computer verification exercise only to be told that the bank statements needed to be stamped by the bank first before the application could be processed. I advised the lady that I can only get the bank statements stamped on Tuesday (today) when the bank opens and I would not like to lose out on the deal. I was also not informed upfront to get the bank statements stamped as the ones I brought in were from the Bank. The lady could not confirm if the package would still be available and could not accept my application subject to the bank stamp.
Today when going back, my wife was advised that the package is no longer available and I would need to settle for a 3GB package at the same price.
Is it fair, or my fault?
