My name is anonymous, had a contract with mtn about two years back. Due to some technicalities things went wrong and my account was not debitted on the dates requested by me which led to my line being suspended. Money owing started pilling up and some time in 2011 I went to a branch with the aim of trying to pay off my account and get my line in working order and I ws told that since I had not utilised the line for some time, my number had been give to someone else. shocked and disappointed, I went home without paying the account. at the time I was told I owed mtn about R1800.

To cut the long story short, yesterday the 26th of march 2013, I went back to mtn to see if I could tryand rectify the situation (pay my debt). I got the shock of my life! I was told that mtn had billed my contract up till May 2012, and the worst part is my debt had gone up to R5650. My question is, how can R1800 accumulate R3000 in a year? I was promised that they were going to email me the statement so that I will be able to see how the charges got accumulated. Till now as I am writting this, I have not received any information. How am I supposed to pay this thing off then???
