At the end of Aug'2012 I went to Mtn at the Pav to get a 3G card. I was told Mtn was running a special; 500MB for R49pm, 1GB for R89pm or 2GB for R129pm. I felt I only needed the 500MB per month and went ahead with the purchase (although I had to go back 6 times before I eventually had my 3G card). At the end of Sept'2012 I got my first account, R163. I had to return to Mtn to find out why it was not R49 and was told I had it all wrong. After an hour of arguing I was told I was billed for 2 months plus extra data useage. Mtn does not tell you when you take out the contract that they will charge you how they see fit once you exceed your 500MB. Anyway, they say that they've passed a credit and I ask that they cap my useage at 500MB going forward. A few months later, and still no credit appears on my account and I again get accounts that exceed the R49 and I again return to the Pav. Again I'm told I'm wrong and again I have to argue and eventually they promise that the credit will go through in the next bill run. However, at this visit, I'm told that they can't cap the useage at 500MB so I need to monitor my own useage. I think this is shocking and unacceptable practice.
