Why won't Vodacom cover my iphone insurance claim?

Hi there
We pay monthly insurance on our contract for our iPhone 4S which is apparently insured for -R7000. However we can't access this even though your website says it 'provides cover for your cellphone in the event of loss, damage and, and also covers any repairs to your cellphone.' My husband is paying for the contract but kindly gave me the phone to use (i.e. 'his' phone, my sim). He accidentally dropped the phone which cracked the screen so I took it in to get repaired/replaced. They told me they won't cover it as it was my sim in the phone. So I asked: why doesn't your website stipulate that it's only the SIM that's covered (shouldn't it be called SIM insurance then?), why doesn't the service consultant highlight this and explain it to you when you sign up for insurance (I'm assuming it's included in the T&Cs on pg20 font size 6!), and surely as his wife the phone is jointly owned by us?? All these questions were met with a shrug of the shoulders. I wasn't impressed with the service and I no longer believe Vodacom or their staff have their clients' interests at heart. Please get back to me with an explanation.
