My cellphone is insured through Vodacom with Cellsure. I received new my Iphone 5 in January 2013, which i was encouraged by Vodacom to insure with them. (though Cellsure). I recently had an issue with my phone not picking up wireless networks, sent it in for repairs, to be told it was beyond economic repair I called Cellsure, they told me to send the BER report to them and they would replace the phone. Over a period of escalating the matter several times, i was then told the phone had to be assessed by the iphone doctor for another opinion, then told it would be replaced with a refurbished unit, then told it would be replaced with a new unit, with an excess of R1750. 3 different stories from the same company? On the claim form, it states that first claim excess is 10% of the cost of a new phone. But the phone is valued at R12500. What i was failed to be made aware of, is the Cellsure only covers handsets to the value of R12000. I was made to pay the balance of the R500 not covered by Cellsure. My household insurance company claim they would have replaced the phone without question the moment they received the BER report. Cellsure do NOT have your best interests at heart
