I trusted my network way too much

I got a contract with Vodacom last year october and specifically requested for insurance for my handset. I was told all the services i had requested for would be activated in 24hrs. I didn't realise that I was supposed to call insurance and make sure they had activated this so I went on with my life thinking I was covered. Last month my phone got and I went through the claim process not knowing my insurance actually hadn't been activated. Charges to my account were always more than the original contract so I thought it was probably insurance so was surprised to find that I wasn't covered and even though I remember asking for it, they convinced me that maybe I thought I did but didn't so I let it go. On Monday I get an sms saying your insurance was activated so I call to find out why and the agent tells me they received the insurance docs from rosebank where I got the contract only that morning hence the activation. I call Vodacom to find out and they give me the run around. Tweet them and I get a couple of calls that assure me something will be done for me. Two days later I call to check how far things have gone and there is no record of me having called about this at all.
