Unable to do a sim swop

I went to the Vodacom World in Midrand today. I start off at the vodashop. I needed to buy a micro sim, in order to do a sim swop with my current data sim, so I can use in a new Ipad. The cashier at vodashop told me to go to customer care to purchase a micro sim and do the sim swop. I proceeded there, where I purchased a micro sim, but was told to call vodacom customer care to do the sim swop. One my way back home from vodacom world, I call customer care. They tell me they cannot do a sim swop over the phone, I must go into a outlet. This is a complete waste of my time. Do I now need to go back to vodaworld??
