I plugged my phone (sg s2) into the charger and after an hour and a half, I went back to my phone and took it out. I noticed it was extremely hot. I took off the battery cover and noticed a few drops of water on it. This water was caused by the process of condensation, due to the heat.
I gave my phone in for repairs and was trying to explain that the cause of my phone breaking was due to overheating, and that is covered in my warranty. I have never brought my phone near water. HRVC however indicated that liquid damage voids the warranty. I have indicated that the TERMS AND CONDITIONS signed by me on 12 December 2011 only indicated that: " The Limited Warranty provided does not cover mechanical or physical damage or corrosion caused by negligent use of the device"- there was no negligent use of the phone at any stage. I have tried to explain and find a solution as I must honour the MTN contract for another year without a phone. Various attempts failed to obtain any assistance from MTN-this is realy exceptional circumstances and should at least be considred by MTN on its own merit. I have requested that a contact number of the CEO be provided in order to state my case- No success
