After confirming with Telkom that an ADSL installation is possible in my area, I confirmed the booking and paid my deposit - order no. 8003002
The technician came out, eventually, after having to phone him a couple of times... He said he is unable to find piping to do the installation and that I should phone my electrician? There are many houses within the estate with Telkom lines yet this technician was unable to walk around the house and find anything? I find this very hard to believe and rather assume that this was a quick way out to not do any work... I believe I found the piping the electrician was looking for (and this isn't even my industry)?
I cancelled the contract, on instruction of consultant I should drive to Telkom direct and get my deposit back. Did that and they advised me that this could have been done over the phone and that I should come out a third time to collect!?!
DO NOT MAKE USE OF TELKOM EVER!!
I will rather pay 3x times more for the same package than have to deal with Telkom again... Neotel here I come!!
