We tried to cancel a line and settle debt with Telkom (we have the communication) in 2000 before moving overseas. Although we requested a response to our communication, we received nothing from Telkom.
8 years later, in 2008, Telkom handed me over to the above attorneys for outstanding collections!
I returned in 2010. In 2012, I was in a Telkom Direct store trying urgently to apply for an ADSL line which they would not accept due to an outstanding amount (the above handover). Even though they could not supply any details, I paid the amount on the Telkom system, along with a R700 deposit to progress my application.( I planned to follow up later).
I was then contacted by Dali Mantlana demanding settlement of O/S monies. I explain the whole thing to them and sent an email with supporting documents. They said they would look in to it. Guess what? Nothing happened. I have been repeating the same process time and again without success, I just keep getting called to pay up. They won't put me through to a manager and say they can't discuss this with Telkom. Telkom tells me they cant look in to this as they have no information, it all been given to Dali Mantlana!
