I have just finished reading a few news broadcasts online about MTN cancelling there BIS offering, and I feel that this is very unfair, borderline breach of contract in fact.
I took a Blackberry on contract with MTN only because taking either a Samsung/ i Phone would result in much larger data costs than when taking a Blackberry with BIS as was on offer when I signed my contract.
I feel that its very unfair that MTN can now change this only months after my contract has started, since I will now be stuck with a Blackberry that is basically useless without BIS. (Or with limited BIS due to imposed costs) Both Samsung and i Phones far supersede Blackberry in terms of hardware and software, and now I will be stuck with an inferior phone and related data costs just because MTN has decided to make this change without sufficient notification as I would have made a different choice had I known BIS would soon be cancelled.
I feel that if MTN makes this change, it should only affect new contracts, not existing ones signed under different pretexts/preconceptions. Otherwise I would like to change my handset with as much notice as MTN gave me that they will be changing my data plan.
