DATA OVERCHARGE DUE TO POOR SERVICE

I was billed R2, 600 in September and R1, 600 so far in October for data usage. I replaced my old Blackberry with a S3 at the Brooklyn Vodashop. This was not an upgrade so all I needed was a SIM swop to a micro SIM.

I was assisted by Surita, who at that stage did not advise me that swapping phones meant I would now have to change my contract to include a data bundle as the Samsung does not have the same data bundle as the Blackberry (R70 pm).

I logged a query with the call centre who told me I should have been offered at data bundle when swapping the phone.

Witbank Vodacom confirmed what the call centre had said which was that Brooklyn should have switched off the Blackberry service and offered me a data bundle for the Samsung.

They also said that Vodacom should refund me as other cases like this had received a refund.

When I spoke to Craig and Philip at Brooklyn they refused to refund me these additional data costs as they say they did not sell me the handset. This is ridiculous as Surita who helped me originally was aware of this and it was obvious the phone she was helping me with wasn't a Blackberry. She put the SIM card in the S3 and showed me how the phone works.
