R10K deposit for Interational Roaming

Seriously, R10K to activate international roaming. I want to use my phone for 1 Week overseas and I have to put down a deposit of R10K. Who sits down and makes up these ridiculous rules. Not even the top network providers in the country have such high standards for international roaming. I want international roaming activated on my account for one week in March otherwise I will invoke my rights as laid out in the consumer protection act. Virgin Mobile did not draw my attention to this ridiculous rule of theirs when I took out the contract and therefore did not respect my rights as a consumer. Its called full disclosure people!!!
