I had a trip to Germany & decided that i'd like international roaming activated.
1. I called altech autopage mt edgecombe & was given the paperwork.
2. Never hear from them so Friday (07.06.2013) i called to enquire & was told no this was not approved as i need to give a R1500.00 non refundable deposit and it's too late, as it may take a few working days to be activated. I leave south africa on (10.06.2013). So i said that's fine cancel it - i don't need it (as i was advised by my colleagues that i wont need it as there is wireless at the hotel in Germany).
3. The next day Saturday (08.06.2013) i receive sms's stating
International Dialing has been cancelled/rejected. From Altech Autopage Cellular" Also got an sms for "International Roaming" being cancelled. I said okay? That's cool.
4. In Dubai & Germany my phone data / whatsapp worked? I said well must be the wireless since i was on wireless. My phone was off most of the time as it was a work trip.
5. one day my phone rang and realised roaming WAS ON! I notified altech who said oh, we switched it on without a deposit.
I said well i never said activate it? I said cancel - this is against the consumer protection act!
